A trip to italy....the ortega way....

So, today is my 24th birthday. So we figured that we would take a trip to Italy. We have had tickets for about a week and everything. Then last night, we get weather advisories and flights all over Europe are being cancelled due to weather! We figure that by the time our flight is, the weather will be better. We planned to leave at 130am and check in at 4 for our 6 am flight. By then the weather should be fine, right?

WRONG! We get there, park, to find out that there isn't a shuttle from parking for another 2 hours... so what do we do....walk.. Now mind you, I am almost 6 months pregnant and its raining out....NOT FUN: So we get into the airport 15 mins later and our flight had been cancelled. Of course it is, and of all the days, my birthday. So we stand in line for about 30 mins to get a changed flight. The soonest flight is at 345pm to Verona, yes, the Verona where Romeo and Juliet lived. Problem is, the only way we can enjoy Italy is to stay an extra night....So we stay there another night and fly back on Sunday afternoon.

Why is it that whenever my mother and I try to do anything for my birthday, we seemed to get...i dunno... not what we planned for.

So here we are at 5am, in the airports internet café....having to wait til 145pm to check in....i can already tell this is going to be an interesting journey. I will update when i can.
