Pictures from the Opel Zoo

05/22/2006, 11:57 AM

Here are the pictures from the trip to the zoo. They are in reverse order cause its too much work to switch them all around...Now remember, we could touch almost everyone of these animals. Enjoy!!!

Here are pictures of the camels. One of them wasn't very happy that day...

I forgot what these animals were called but they were sooooo scared of the little voles that were digging around in their grass...

Here is a lemur keepin an eye out.....

A very shy hyena ...

These are warthogs, yes they really do exists....

These are porcupine quills. They were at least a foot long....scary huh??

A cute monkey looking sad and a mama monkey and her baby, born just 3 weeks ago..
.

We didn't get to touch but got very very close to this hippo...

This pig loved getting his belly and ears scratched, i would have taken him home if i could...

Watching this giraffe walk just a few yards away was like being in Jurassic park...

This llama and his family kept following us around the gate begging for food.

This lil guy was my fav. He actually took my finger in both hands and held it for a while...how cute!

These animals are like kangaroos but smaller, i believe they are called wallabies....

This bird is a relative of the flamingo, he was a gourgeous bright red.

These two guys are artic fox. They smelt sooooo bad, but they had the softest fur.

This is one of the many many rams that were begging for food. One ram was so funny, he was standing up on the gate and when he wanted food *which was always* he would paw at the gate to get my attention.

Once again i forget what these lil guys were called but they were so adorable.

After we fed this big guy a few carrots all his friends decided to come and have a look at us. Luckily the zoo keeper came otherwise we would have ran out of food just at him....

These lil guys were very skittish, but very cute.

These were the very first animals we saw. They were outside the zoo and we had no idea that you could feed any other animals so we fed them 2 boxes of animal chow.
