The day of finallys'

07/21/2005, 19:24 PM

Yesterday was the day of finallys.

We finally made it to the mall. It wasn't as big as I thought it was and didn't really have good stores, but hey, we got there.

We finally went to the questura (police for immigrants) and finally got our permission to stay, even if its only for 3 months. Where we go or what we do after that????

We finally registered for school, got our student ids and registered for class that starts Aug. 1st. now all we have to do is find where the classes are.....

We finally cooked something at our flat. Pasta with bologna pasta sauce. (meat sauce) it was great, even the cats loved it, noodles and all.

Speaking of the cats, we finally found food they like and got another litter box. 2 boxes for 4 cats was not enough. Now we have 3, but no litter for the 3rd one. Not until tomorrow when we go to the store.

We finally went to bed early like everyone else. Now, this doesn't mean that we woke up early though. Baby steps.....

We finally got plants for our balcony/porch. Mom got a hibiscus and I purchases a Venus fly trap. A really healthy one for a change. Whenever I would buy one in America, it was always unhealthy and never made it. This one has a deep red colour mouth like it should, and has little buds that are starting to grow. It also has a healthy appetite. 3 ants and 1 fly. It is great for our place since we have lots of spiders, bees and flies around.

I think that is all for finallys'. But if I think of any more I will tell you.

So today we went to a Umbria tourist info store. They had tons of things and places to see in our providence. We are going with a tour and tour-guide to Rome on Tuesday. Finally we will have something exciting to write in our blogs. (We hope). We also picked up a whole bunch of info on other places that we wanted to go and see. And starting in September, there are a whole bunch more tours that will be available to go on. Yeah!

I got an email back from a former co-work today. I was so happy to hear from him because I haven't had that job for almost year and miss everyone there, that still works there, very much, that was probably my favorite job. It was a record store. I learned so much about music over that year and a half that I think I would be a different person if I hadn't been hired there. The great people that I met there and the experience was what I loved. I miss a lot of my regular customers there also. Dan, say hi to our favorite customers there and update them, esp. John and Aaron.

As I said in my last post, I did end up staying up all night that night to read Harry Potter 6, and I was not disappointed at all. They say that the author is already finished writing the last book, so hopefully it wont be a year for the next one to come out. I will not give anything away in this blog about the book, so don't worry. I think it took me about 6-7 hours to read it. I love reading because to me its a mental movie in my head and I love that.

I still have a few postcards to write and send out. Its hard though. again I don't want them all to sound the same so I think I will wait until after we go to Rome to write them because hopefully I will have more to say then. I will also have more pics to put on here, hopefully, because on a tour like that you are allowed to bring a camera and look like a tourist. The only I need to get to look more like a tourist is shorts. But i also need them to keep cool. But since I have already lost 5 pounds (YEAH!) I think I will wait a bit more so that if I continue, and I will, to lose weight I wont have to replace them because they are too big.

One thing that you have to try if you ever come to Italy is the gelato. OMG! Its almost sinful. Its different than ice cream and tastes a lot better. And the amount of flavors is so huge. I think you would have to try 1-2 flavors a day for about a month to taste all of them. And every geletaria you go to has more and a different variety than the last one. Its great.

So tomorrow we are thinking of renting a car and driving out to veterbo. My mom just keeps saying over and over again that we need to go there. Why? I have no clue, but since I am getting bored of just riding buses around Perugia, I am def. up for it. We also plan to visit our friend Laura who lives in bologna next weekend. We first however have to check train fares and if she is available before we go.

Unfortunately for London, another set of bombs went off today. The new about it is in the "In the news" section of my blog. Again my heart goes out to them.

I think that is about all for now. Remember to read the news and remember I try to include cool and interesting pics at the end of the news so check it out. Also those of you that are new to my blog. you have to read from the bottom up. Just click on the oldest month and read from there or you can just start at the bottom of the page and read up. I cant change they way its formatted or I would.
